We focus on interventions that disrupt inequitable social determinants of health and address multi-generational trauma and toxic stress in marginalized communities. Elevating social entrepreneurs as they establish field leadership is important to LSPFF.

The Family Mental Health Demonstration Project is exploring how embedding mental health screening and family support into pediatric primary care can drive sustainable health systems change.

Since launching in 2015, the Steinberg Institute has generated billions of dollars for vital programs that directly impact the lives of California's most vulnerable. As California's only independent mental health and substance use advocacy organization, our work has led to thousands of homes for people experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness, a robust framework and implementation plan for the new 988 crisis line and strict rules requiring insurance companies to provide the same level of coverage for mental health treatment as physical health.
